  2. What You Need To Know • Protocol Submittal Form (PSF) and Guide is maintained on the DAQ Website (Compliance and Enforcement section). Check for any updates here. • http://www.ncair.org/enf/sourcetest/ • Transitioned to dry impinger Method 202 from “old” Method • Greater rigor in checking for cyclonic flow • EPA is requiring more testing results to be submitted through the Electronic Reporting Tool (ERT)

  3. Proposed Revisions and Updates to the Methods • Not an all inclusive list • Proposed January 9, 2012. Comment period closed March 3, 2012 • Included corrections to some methods • Updated some methods and removed obsolete materials • Projected to be final in 2013

  4. Improvements • Stratification test in Method 7E added to allow fewer sampling points (Method 1, Section 11.2.2 Velocity and Gaseous (non-particulate) Traverses • Method 7 and 7A-procedure added for high SO2 interference • All Methods • Stratification procedures • Verification of presence/absence of cyclonic flow • Correction of Method 2 average stack velocity equation • RICE Rules-Method 1 or 1A to be deleted-sample from centroid.

  5. Removal of Obsolete/Outdated Specs and Materials • Calibration against Hg instruments for temperature and barometric pressure (Calibration against NIST-Traceable Device) • Use of Tedlar bags (Methods 7E, 10A, 10B, and 18) • Method 2B-changed assumed ambient CO2 from 300 to 380 ppm • Method 5 • Dropped mention of silicone grease • Dropped mention of nomograph • Check valve deleted from train

  6. Future Implementation • These changes may be in effect by next MCIC Air Quality Conference • DAQ will be evaluating the ERT and how that fits in to existing regulations • These proposed changes also had changes to certain rules in 40 CFR 60, 61, and 63 which we have not covered here.
