  6. December 23rd (afternoon) • Winter Storm Warning • Entire NWS CWA…4-6 inches…strong winds

  7. December 24th (morning) • Winter Storm Warning upgraded • Widespread 4-8 inches…locally greater amounts

  8. December 24th (late morning) • Blizzard Warning • Rapidly falling temps…strong winds…deepening low

  9. Impacts • 9 fatalities • All major interstates and roads closed • Many stranded motorists • National Guard called in • Airports closed

  19. Christmas Day • Traveled to Newcastle & Moore for family get-togethers (against my better judgement) • Saw at least 100 stranded cars…some in the middle of the interstate!
