Building an Effective Learning Environment • A learning environment includes all conditions, circumstances, and influences that affect the learner’s development: • Physical space and surroundings • Lighting • Seating • Dividing room into sections for different acitivities • Non-physical components of space • How instruction is accomplished (auditory-verbal, TC, manual, cued speech) • Technologies used (FM, hearing aids, CI’s) • Planned interaction among students, with teachers, etc. • Assessment techniques • Role type as teacher (sage, guide, coach, facilitator, etc.)

  3. Instructional Planning System • Design: designing the instruction Identifies overall goals and steps to achieve these goals. • Plan: articulating specific lesson plans • Act: Developing an instructional plan the action plan specifies everything you need to do make learning happen in the class
