Easy Ways to Eliminate Spread of Kudzu: • 1.) Planting Kudzu away from homes, fences, orchards & crops • 2.) Using tools such as chain saws or yard trimmers • 3.) Allow overgrazing of cattle • 4.) Destroying the actual roots rather than just cutting the leaves or branches.
What Scientists are Testing to Get Rid of Kudzu: • 1.) Scientists are trying to find biological controls (natural predators) to the plant. • 2.) Picloram, or "agent pink" is sometimes extremely effective if applied with persistence. However, it can damage crops. • 3.) Three different chemicals which are known to be herbicides can kill it. • 4.) Chemical controls, such as pesticides, or chemical solutions are sometimes used in helping to stop the spread of Kudzu. • -Scientists still haven't found a way to 100% eliminate Kudzu.
