For some reason, there’s the idea that romance novels are very easy to write. I can’t count the number of instances I have heard people say that they could quickly write a romance book if they wanted to. In short, they haven’t really tried to write a book or a novel of any form, yet they are utterly convinced that it would be so easy to pen a romance.
I don’t know why people think like this. It seems to be almost a universal belief. If you tell somebody you wrote romances, they will look down their nose at you. But the reality is that writing a romance needs only an effort, like any other novel, and doesn’t write itself.
As per Omolarami Akindiji, a lot of people who wish to know how to write a romance novel will invest in a lot of writing books. This is really something that can be a great help to the aspiring writer, but do not overdo it. In short, never spend all of your time reading books on writing and none of your time really writing.
