  3. The Doctor • Dr. James Pajl • Internship supervisor and clinic owner • 1983 Kansas State University Graduate • Has owned The Veterinary Medical Clinic since January 1st 1989

The Staff • One Full-Time Receptionist & Vet Tech Assistant • Julie Jarvis, 3 years of service • Out of Chicago • One Full-Time Veterinary Technician • Ashley Lenhoff, 1 ½ years of service • One Part-Time Groomer & Veterinary Technician • Sara Zimmerman, 7 years of service • Out of Colorado from Alameda East Veterinary Hospital – Emergency Vets! • Office Manager • Martha Pajl

Responsibilities Maintaining the front desk Check in/check out, answering phones, setting up appointments Exam Room Assisting Doctor, preparing & cleaning Boarders/Kennels Cleaning, feeding, walking, picking up poop Stock Record keeping Surgery room Assisting Doctor, preparing, & cleaning Drawing blood/starting IV’s Filing prescriptions Heartworm/leukemia tests fecal floats Urine tests Monitoring patients Sterilizing equipment Dentals Grooming Laundry Occasional office work & running errands CLEANING, CLEANING, CLEANING!!! The Internship

  7. Initial Expectations Walking and feeding cats and dogs Vaccinations Spay and neuters Picking up poop and cleaning up urine and vomit Reality of the job Busy Lots of overtime Complicated surgeries Emergencies Blood, Sweat, and Tears Way more cleaning! Expectations vs. Reality
