  2. Autostrada A1 Nowe Marzy-Toruń Negotiations between General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways and Gdańsk Transport Company were resume in February 2008. On 30 June 2008 the preliminary agreement for realisation of the Motorway A1 Nowe Marzy – Toruń were signed between the Minister of Infrastructure and GTC. On 12 August 2008 General Director of General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways handed over to GTC the right of way in order to commenced the construction works on the motorway.

Autostrada A1 in 2011 • Total length of the A1Motorway - 569 km, • including: • section Gdańsk -Toruń built in PPP model - 152 km • section Toruń - Łodź built in traditional model - 144 km • section Łódź - Pyrzowice built in PPP model - 180 km • Pyrzowice – boarder with Czech Republic built . in traditional model - 93 km

Autostrada A1 The construction of the A1 motorway is divided into two phases: • Phase 1 – 90 km stretch .of motorway between .Rusocin and Nowe .Marzy nearGrudziądz. .Completion - October 2008. • Phase 2 – planned 62 km stretch of motorway between n Nowe Marzy and Czerniewice n near Toruń. . Completion -December 2011.

  10. Phase I realisation • Construction works commenced in November 2005. • The first 25-km section Rusocin – Swarożyn was open . for traffic in December 2007. Completion of the . next 65 km of Phase 1 is scheduled for 15 October. • 3 274 643 drivers have used the motorway till now, . currently average daily traffic oscillates around 20,5 . thousand cars, the highest traffic on the A1 was . 25 603 vehicles.

  11. Project scope • Works includes construction of: • Completely new section of the . motorway from the junction Nowe . Marzy to the junction Lubicz .(51,72 km) and the bridgeover .the Vistula River. • Modernisationof partly existing. section from the junction Lubicz .toCzerniewice (10,70 km)and .finishing construction of the two .bridges over the VistulaRiver .in Toruń and Drwęca River.
