  1. FACTS ABOUT MEDICAL MARIJUANA

  2. Marijuana-derived from the cannabis plant. It contains more than 500 compounds of which around 100 are found to be useful in medical science. These valuable compounds are called cannabinoids. Our brain and nerve cells contain receptors for these compounds. When marijuana is inhaled or ingested, it gets bind to the receptors and exhibits its effect.

  4. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) THC is the chemical that is responsible for the psychological effects. It acts like a natural cannabinoid present in our body. It attaches to the receptors thus affecting person's memory, pleasure, movements, thinking, conversation, coordination and sensory and time perception. It helps in reducing pain and induces sleep. Cannabidiol (CBD) It is the primary ingredient of marijuana that has significant medical benefits. Unlike THC it is non-psychoactive and also known to neutralize the effect of THC in the body. Thus it is useful in relieving inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasm and other medical conditions. CBD also inhibits the growth of cancer cell in the body and thus prevent tumor formation.

  5. Cannabinol (CBN) Cannabinol is present in very less amount in the cannabis flower. Its concentration rarely exceeds 1% in the dried herb but it has a unique profile of effects and benefits. It acts as pain relief, anti- insomnia, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, appetite stimulant, etc. It is a non-psychoactive and therefore preferred by the person who needs medication with the clear head. β-caryophyllene It is helpful in combating anti-inflammatory disorder like arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and HIV related dementia without getting high on marijuana. It also acts as a local anesthetic and has anti-fungal properties. It is useful in treating anxiety and depression.

It is a useful medicine for the people with a disorder that affects the central nervous system, including neurological diseases, skin disorders, chronic pain and others. It is non-psychoactive and thus helps in maintaining a balance of THC in the body. CBG increases the level of anandamide thus improves appetite, sleep, and memory. It also blocks the serotonin receptors and thus helps in treating depression.
