  3. Essential question: How has space exploration affected Florida? Learning goal SWBAT explain the economic and cultural impact of space exploration on Florida.

  4. As discontinued? Compare sending probes into space with sending humans into space. What would happen to the economy of Florida if the space program was discontinued?

  5. What can we learn from space images? Telescopes are used to collect different types of radiation that can be used to produce images. These images are then used to study all types of astronomical objects (sun, planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, quasars)

  6. How do people explore space? 1. Astronauts in space crafts 2. Robotic exploration using: • Telescopes • Unscrewed spacecraft • Space probes • Computer technologies 3. Observing earth from above using satellites

  7. How has space exploration affected Florida? Florida has benefited from space exploration. Kennedy Space Center in Florida is the largest space program launch center in the U.S. Jobs have been created in aerospace and non-aerospace industries. Corporate and personal income tax raised have led to economic growth. Tourism in Florida has increased generating great revenue.

  8. Tourism has also caused many people from different parts of the country and of the world to relocate to Florida bringing their distinctive cultures with them. Florida has become an important high-tech center
