Debate Expectations • Participate via in-class assignments • Work with partner(s) • Good sportsmanship Each student will learn to research, organize, and orally present information pertaining to this year’s resolution. Student’s will learn how to debate using the National Speech and Debate Asssociation organization style for competitive debate.

  7. Tournament Participation – 3 minimum – First by October Judging Commitments for Kapuan’s Tournaments Students cannot wait until December to realize they need to get their points I will work with extenuating circumstances in advance ONLY Point system This year

  8. 200 – In-class assignments – 200 points total (NOT OPTIONAL) 300 – Tournament Round – 20 points (Limit 15) 300 – Judges for KMC – 50 points per round (Limit 6 rounds) 300 – Judges for NSDA – 50 points per round (Limit 6 rounds) 200 – Attending KMC Tournament – 40 points per rd (Limit 5) 100 – Practice Rounds – 20 points (Limit 5) 50 – Watch elimination debate – 10 points (limit 5) 100 – Parents sponsor a tournament – 50 points (Limit 2) 100 - Attending NSDA Qualifier – 20 points per rd (Limit 5) Points and Grades 1288-1400 A 1162-1287 B 1036-1286 C 910-1035 D Point System
