On October 23, 2009, the SEDEC Northern Forum held a meeting focused on the advocacy update regarding the National Framework and Action Plan for the reintegration of ex-combatants into civilian life, presented by Ms. Amanthi Wickremasinghe from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Human Rights. Additionally, Ms. A. Kitazume from the JICA Sri Lanka highlighted initiatives for livelihood assistance under the Rural Livelihood Improvement Project in Hambantota. The agenda also included discussions about resettlement families from affected regions.
