City of Kingston • What is Stormwater? • Stormwater is any water that runs off the land during a storm event. • The City of Kingston is working to control Stormwater and protect it’s local water bodies
City of Kingston • Where does Stormwater go? • Like many cities in the northeast, Kingston has Combined Sewers in parts of the City. • All stormwater drains untreated from street level to the Rondout Creek. • All stormwater that drains into Combined Sewers travel to Kingston Wastewater Plant.

Control Measure 1 – Public Education and Outreach Forsyth Nature Center conducted watershed education programs hundreds of students in Kingston Schools and the Hudson River City of Kingston

City of Kingston Control Measure 6 – Municipal Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping Programs • The City of Kingston has a number of annual programs including Street Cleaning and Storm Drain Cleaning • Kingston has Anit-Litter and Canine Waste Laws
