  2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXAM: • BRING YOUR IDENTIFICATION CARD • PUNCTUALITY: ONCE STARTED NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER: IMPORTANT!!!! • SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE. IF ON, THE EXAM WILL BE REMOVED. • THE EXAM SHOULD BE DONE IN BLACK OR BLUE PEN. OTHERWISE, NOT CORRECTED.

  3. The exam has four parts: • 1. reading • 2. writing • 3. listening • 4. speaking

  4. In May we have on the same day: • Reading • Writing • Listening

  5. The oral exam: • From the 19th of May to the 19th of June. • Who can do the oral exam? Those people with a minimum of 4 (out of 10) in each of the other skills .

  6. MARKS • You need 5 out of 10 in each skill to pass the exam. (4 allows you to do the oral exam, but 5 is the minimum to pass it). • Those skills passed in June will not need to be done in September. • Promotion to the next course needs passing all the four skills.

  7. READING • The exam will consist of 2 or 3 reading text. Possible tasks: • Matching headlines to paragraphs. • Ordering paragraphs. • Multiple choice questions. • True /false questions • Inserting sentencen into a text • Relate vocabulary to the text • Answering questions…

  8. WRITING • The exam will consist of 2 writing tasks: One guided, and the other free.

  9. LISTENING • The exam will consist of 2 or 3 extracts to listen. Possible tasks: Completing sentences with some words. Multiple choice questions. True false questions. Matching pictures to titles. Matching extracts to titles…..

  10. SPEAKING • The exam will be done in pairs (or threes if not enough people).There will be an individual part and an interactive part. The tasks: Pictures description Roleplays Discussing on a topic Answering questions Debating …..

  13. TYPICAL MISTAKES IN THE ORAL EXAM: • Lack of: confidence imagination language knowledge (relevant) ideas strategies (paraphrasing, fillers,turn-taking..) vocabulary

  15. COMPARE: • I was in a terrible hotel. The staff was bad, and the food too. The building was old, and I didn’t have a good time. • This was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. The rooms were dark and dingy, and I wouldn’t feed the food to my dog. I really found it a little hard to find time to enjoy myself. I wish I hadn’t been there.
