In today's tech-driven world, assumptions about IT skills among students can be misleading. As an academic skills tutor at Leeds Metropolitan University, I emphasize the need for a tailored approach to IT education. My background spans from pre-technology undergraduate studies to current engagements in advanced technology. Through customized IT sessions and tutorials, I address common misconceptions and provide essential support for a diverse student population. Establishing a robust digital literacy policy is crucial in enhancing academic success and equipping students with necessary IT skills.
