Join Us for FLEX Wednesday: Musical Math and Light Travel Challenge!

Attention all participants! If your name is listed, I would love for you to join me this Wednesday for an engaging FLEX session focused on "Musical Math". We'll tackle a fun problem: How long does it take light to travel from the Sun to the Earth, covering 93 million miles? In groups of four, take on roles such as Artist, Labeler, Mathematician, and Writer to creatively solve and present this problem. Let's make colorful displays that showcase your hard work and creativity. Looking forward to an exciting day!

  3. Musical Math Light travels about 1,860,000 miles in 10 seconds. How long will it take light to travel 93,000,000 miles from the Sun to the Earth?

  4. Problem Solving Activity • In groups of four, assign the following roles • Artist –the artist is responsible for drawing a picture/diagram of the problem • Labeler – the labeler is responsible for labeling the diagram (all numbers, descriptions, etc.) • Mathematician – the mathematician is responsible for making sure the problem is solved correctly and explaining to the writer the detailed steps involved in solving the problem. • Writer – the writer is responsible for writing a detailed description of how the problem was solved • These will be on DISPLAY! Make them colorful. Make them nice. Make the something you are proud of!
