HAR Plays an Active Role in the Community • If you were unable to attend HAR’s annual H-Town Day program, it featured a veritable Who’s Who of local political heavyweights who make important decisions every day that affect the needs of REALTORS® and consumers alike. The HAR-TV team was there to capture highlights and interview speakers as they shared their insights. Check out the video. • The Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation recently marked its 11th year with REALTORS ® coming together to celebrate the life of Nancy Owens and promote awareness about cancer. The HAR-TV cameras were on hand and captured highlights of the event that you may watch here.

  5. Weekly HAR Market Stat Housing pessimism is as out of fashion nowadays as bell bottoms and shoulder pads. Those who are still fishing for that elusive "market bottom" have likely missed it in most areas. The major story continues to be tightened inventory and high buyer turnout. Homes should be selling faster and for closer to list price – or even above in the hottest neighborhoods. Continue to monitor key differences between the foreclosure and traditional segments as well as variability between the single-family and condo markets. In the Houston region, for the week ending October 14: • New Listings decreased 6.3% to 1,717 • Pending Sales increased 42.7% to 1,476 • Closed Sales increased 3.6% to 931

  6.
