SAT & ACT Overview 4-Year College Entrance Exams • Cost • SAT: $51 • ACT: $37.50 (no writing)/$52.50(writing) • Fee waivers (for students who receive free or reduced lunch or have special circumstances) • The student can take the SAT or ACT twice for FREE • The fee waiver also covers the cost of four college application fees *DON’T miss the deadline! (To avoid a late fee) • Registration • Mail or Online • SAT www.collegeboard.com • ACT www.actstudent.org Study Materials • Prep booklets • Online Photo upload • Must be a picture of JUST the student • Somewhat current • Not too bright or too dark • No hats or sunglasses • Glasses are OK • If paper registration • Attach 2x2 to 2.5x3 photo

For Profit Colleges Vocational-technical and career colleges Specialized training in a particular industry or career. Programs of study include: The Culinary Arts, Firefighting, Dental Hygiene and Medical-Records Technology. Certificates or associate degrees. (ex: National College) • Businesses that offer a degree programs for a specific career. • Higher cost • Credits earned may not transfer • (Ex: The Art Institutes, ECPI )
