“The Sky” Matching Game The theme for the month of June and beginning of July was “The Sky.” I was told to create an activity for the toddlers that touched on their theme. I created “The Sky” matching game.

  1. “The Sky” Matching Game The theme for the month of June and beginning of July was “The Sky.” I was told to create an activity for the toddlers that touched on their theme. I created “The Sky” matching game. I created a game board that had five pictures of things you would find in the sky. These included a bird, a plane, a cloud, a sun and a star. I also had these five objects in a bag. The children were to choose an item from the bag and place it on the matching picture. As they placed it on the matching picture, I described each object to them. The toddlers loved this game. The game is still available for them to play with in the literacy center of their classroom.

  2. I started by going through the current vocabulary book which highlights objects associated with the sky. Picture was taken at His Place Child Care Center. All children have media release forms in their files located in the office at His Place Child Care Center.

  6. After completing the matching game I asked the toddlers what their favorite object was. They all picked up their favorite object and told me why it was their favorite Picture was taken at His Place Child Care Center.
