  6. Myth and Truth about Infertility Everyone has their opinion about infertility. If you are unable to conceive and don't know why yet, then you have probably been bombarded with advice and suggestions. Aunties may tell you what home remedies to take and uncles may give you unsolicited advice about intercourse. There are so many myths about infertility yet only a set number of truths. It is your responsibility to find out the truth and to do what is right for you. Myth: Infertility is only associated with the female. Truth: Infertility could occur in, either, the male and female. About 40% of cases occur in the female and about 40% occurs in the male, whilst 10% is in both partners and 10% is unaccounted for.

  7. Myth: If you don't conceive immediately you should see a fertility specialist. Truth: It can take some couples some time to conceive, depending on their circumstances, health issues and contraceptives used. If you're unable to conceive after trying for 12 months, then it is a good idea to see a fertility specialist to run tests on both of you. Myth: Your weight doesn't affect your fertility. Truth: For women, especially, if you are overweight then it could lower your chances of conception. It is a good idea to engage in moderate exercises and eat a balanced diet to lose the weight. Myth: It's OK for the man to drink alcohol while trying to conceive.

  8. Truth: Alcohol is toxic to sperm because it can play a big role in reducing sperm counts, sexual performance and it can affect the hormones. Myth: Smoking doesn't affect male fertility. Truth: Smoking affects both male and female fertility. It has been linked to low sperm counts as well as low motility in men. Myth: Stress causes infertility. Truth: This is a common misconception that stress causes infertility. So couples are usually told that they must relax or take it easy. Couples are also told that they are too young to worry about it. As a result couples delay consultation with a fertility specialist until they are older. This could lower their chances

  9. of conceiving because it is better to seek fertility treatment sooner rather than later. Myth: It's OK to exercise excessively, like body builders do. Truth: Excessive exercise such as body building and weight lifting can affect the production of sperm in men which is the result of heat build-up around the testicles. In women, it can lead to menstrual disorders. ACCESS THE PREGNANCY MIRACLE HERE

  10. What Is Infertility? - What Causes It and How to Cope The definition of infertility is the inability to conceive or having difficulty conceiving. How is infertility diagnosed? When a couple has been labeled infertile, this simply means that they have been unable to conceive a child within one year of regular sexual intercourse and without birth control. There are two categories within an infertility diagnosis: primary and secondary. Primary infertility is when you have never had a child and are unable to conceive while secondary infertility is when you have previously conceived but are having difficulty at the present time due to a medical problem impairing your fertility. There are a number of reasons for infertility and you may not realize you are infertile until you attempt to conceive. Approximately 14 percent of people in the U.S. are infertile and

  11. this can be contributed to by problems that have to do with lifestyle, age or physical issues. How the Hormones Work In a woman, the reproduction system depends on five main hormones: progesterone, estrogen, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone and gonadotropin- releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH is the first hormone released by the hypothalamus-one of the brain's regions. After being released, the pituitary gland produces the follicle stimulating hormone and the luteinizing hormone. These hormones then communicate with the ovaries to allow them to release progesterone and estrogen.

  12. The follicle stimulating hormone causes several of the egg follicles located in the ovaries to mature and ripen (the ovaries hold between 200,000 and 400,000 of these follicles). In addition to having this effect on the egg follicles, this hormone makes the ovaries produce estrogen which in turn causes a large release of the luteinizing hormone and then stimulates the ovulation process by releasing an egg into the fallopian tubes from the largest follicle. The luteinizing hormone is also responsible for producing the yellow tissue (corpeus luteum) that makes progesterone. At this time, estrogen and progesterone work together to prepare and thicken the lining of the uterus by swelling it with blood so that a fertilized egg can implant itself. In a man, the reproductive system depends on four main hormones: testosterone, luteinizing

  13. hormone, follicle stimulating hormone and gonadotropin-releasing hormone. The GnRH is released by the hypothalamus in a man's brain just as in a woman's brain and triggers the luteinizing hormone and the follicle stimulating hormone to be produced by the pituitary gland. These two hormones then regulate sperm production and the release of testosterone. This all takes place within the male testes which is inside the scrotal sac. Causes of Infertility Both men and women can be the cause of infertility due problems in a man's system or abnormalities in a woman's system. Twenty percent of infertility cases are due to both parties having problems with their systems, 10 percent of the time the problem cannot be found and the remaining 70 percent of fertility cases is split between the man and the woman.

  14. It can be caused by a number of reasons, some of which are easier to fix than others such as poor lifestyle or sexual habits. Sometimes the cause can be as simple as not having sex enough or using lubricants that interfere with the sperm's survival. Lifestyle habits that can be changed include heavy use of drugs, tobacco or alcohol, tight underwear and stress. Tight underwear causes infertility in men because the tightness raises the temperature in the crotch area and therefore reduces sperm count. Stress can cause a woman's cycle to be irregular and can increase a man's risk of infertility by lowering his sperm count. A woman might become infertile due to a number of reasons including pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which is the most common cause of infertility throughout the world. This is a condition where the pelvis or at least one of the reproductive organs is

  15. infected. This includes the fallopian tubes, the ovaries, the uterus or the cervix. This disease comes from the same type of bacteria that causes sexually transmitted diseases such as Chlamydia or gonorrhea. Another reason for infertility in women is a condition called polycystic ovarian syndrome. This causes infertility because it does not allow the body to produce eggs due to the overproduction of testosterone and other male hormones. Endometriosis and infertility commonly go hand in hand. This is because when a woman has endometriosis, parts of the uterine lining implant in and scar the vagina, pelvis, fallopian tubes or ovaries. Other problems with infertility in women include other sexually transmitted diseases, such as genital herpes, which can lower fertility; immune system problems; hormonal problems;

  16. fibroids; surgical complications; medications and poor quality cervical mucous. Men can become infertile due to fewer reasons than women, some of which include having swollen veins in the scrotum, under-developed testes, some medications, exposure to metals, testicle injuries, chronic infections to the prostate and infections such as tuberculosis and gonorrhea. Other causes of male infertility include autoimmunity and retrograde ejaculation, which is where the sperm travels back into the bladder instead of being forced out. 17. unfeminine or unmasculine, guilty, frustrated and stressed and to the pressure of infertility treatment. If you are experiencing infertility after properly planning the timing of sexual activity and doing everything you know to naturally conceive, seeking advice from a doctor should be a next step if you are considering more advanced types of assisted reproductive treatments. Some of these treatments include in vitro fertilization, or IVF, which is a procedure where the woman takes fertility drugs to increase egg production; the doctor then retrieves at least one of the eggs, mixes it with the sperm in a petri dish and allows the fertilization to take place. Once this occurs, the doctor allows the embryo to develop for a few days outside of the womb and then implants it into the uterus lining. Other treatments include artificial insemination and gamete intrafallopian tube

  18. transfer (GIFT). During treatment for infertility in some cases, you run the risk of multiple births. DISCOVER TESTED METHOD TO GET PREGNANT TODAY

  19. Infertility - Signs and Treatments If you have been trying to conceive for a period of a year or more without positive results, there is a chance that you or your partner may be infertile. But don't despair just yet; once you recognize the signs of infertility you can do something about it. Around ten percent of couples are affected by infertility. Most of these couples will eventually be able to have children either with, or without treatment. It is a common misconception that infertility is a female problem, but infertility affects men as well and accounts for 40 to 50 percent of all infertility in humans. There are generally no signs or of infertility other than the fact that the woman is unable to become pregnant. Because of this most men

  20. and women who are infertile will never know until they decide they want to conceive. Occasionally women who are infertile will have irregular menstrual cycles, or very painful periods. Some women will become pregnant only to miscarry. This can also be one of the signs of infertility in women. The main causes for infertility are ovulation disorders. Finding the right infertility treatment can be a challenge. Things like living a healthy lifestyle and maintaining your optimum weight can help you to have a regular menstrual cycle and ovulate correctly. STDs or certain types of birth control may also contribute to infertility, so choose your method of birth control wisely. Tests for signs of infertility may include:

  21. - Regular measuring of body temperatures - Monitoring changes of the cervical mucus - Blood tests - Biopsy of uterine lining - Measurement of different hormones - Pelvic exam If after undergoing a series of tests, you are diagnosed as being infertile you should look into an infertility treatment such as: - Medicines that promote ovulation, also known as fertility drugs. These include medications like clomid, follicle stimulating hormone, metformin and bromocriptine. - Surgery; a type of surgery is sometimes recommended for women who suffer from blockages or other problems involving the fallopian tubes.

  22. - Intrauterine insemination, also known as artificial insemination. This treatment is normally used in the case of male infertility, but it is often also used if there is a problem with the woman's cervical mucus. Which method will work best for you, depends on the cause of your infertility. Finding the exact cause may take some time, especially if you never noticed any signs of infertility. It is natural to become frustrated and emotional during this process. But it is easier for a woman to conceive when she is not under any stress, so try to relax and be patient while the doctors try to find the right infertility treatment to suit your specific condition.
