  3. Question Time • What is a COGNATE? • What is a FALSCHE FREUND? • Can you give examples of both?

  4. Quick game of “Cognate or Falscher Freund” • If you think the following word is a cognate, put both hands in the air. • If you think the following word is a Falscher Freund, stand up.

  7. Vocab Lists • In pairs, go through the vocab lists and underline/shade with ONE colour all the cognates you can find. • Use a dictionary to check! • If it isn’t a cognate, is it a FALSCHE FREUND? If so, underline/shade with a different colour!

Vocab Test for next lesson • You need to choose your own ten words – they should be ten words you DON’T KNOW the meaning of, or were unsure about. • 7 should be from the Foundation list • 3 should be from the Higher list. • For the test, I will expect you to write the German and the English down.

Das finde ich interesssant, weil ich englische Popmusik mag. Deutsch finde ich langweilig, weil der Lehrer doof ist, aber Französisch ist ganz gut, weil die Lehrerin nett ist. Physik, Chemie und Mathe mag ich nicht, weil sie schwer sind. Mein Lieblingsfach ist Sport, weil ich sehr sportlich bin. Sport haben wir morgen. Und du? Was lernst du in der Schule?
