WCD – what it is • Hybrid solution : EDM and WCM • A Web oriented documents database • Based on Instranet • A repository for important documents • A web interface : pages to include in Web sites (syndication) • Hypercube – each dimension is a metadatahierachicallist • A search engine • Security and classification management

  5. WCD - history • Project started in 2002 • First solution on line in june 2003, used only by Committee of Ministers • Revised solution launched end of 2004, usable by any service • 2005-2007 : a mature tool, slowly improving

WCD in october 2007 Where we are • 110 000 documents • 12 services contributors • 30 publishers • 48 000 visits in September 2007 9000 visits in January 2005 • 120 000 documents consulted by month average 2007 • Piloting group, meeting once a month 20 members : IT, Comm, publishers, readers • Technical teammaintenance/evolutions, support, training (4 persons)

WCD – special features • Languages association • Document formats : doc, pdf, html • Document life (prov, rev, final…) • Components (addendum, parts…) • Easy extraction of documents lists • Personalization (behaviour and design) • Dynamic pages but all are visible by robots • Back-office : • Magic links • Automatic transformation from “doc” to “html” • Mandatory : document reference and language • Publishers aren’t documents nor Web specialists
