NAVIGATING TO SOE PORTFOLIO • Navigating to the UWSP Professional Portfolio Page • Begin UWSP home page • Click Academics and Research • Click College of Professional Studies • Click School of Education • Click on Reference (left side in purple) • Scroll down and click Prof. Ed. Portfolio • You will find lists of the following: • Ten Wisconsin Teaching Standards • Course Standard Matrices • Performance tasks (select your major and you will find a list of performance tasks matching course numbers) • Student portfolio samples

  3. COLLECTING ALONG THE WAY • As you are taking education and methods classes check the performance tasks and save your work on these for webpage • Shape assignments to artifacts (omit assignment looking features)

  4. A WORD ABOUT ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS • Readers of you portfolio want to see you work and your teacher thinking. • Borrowing lesson plans from website or others is ok, but not for portfolio models. • When borrowing and adapting for your use, add reference and credit to where you borrowed.

  5. A WORD ABOUT RIGHT TO PRIVACY • Use pseudonyms for student names Tip: use find and replace to change names When using photos get permission Model release template available https://www.uwsp.edu/Education/pshaw/e400/samples.htm

  8. 10 TEACHING STANDARDS • You need to make sure you address all 10 teaching standards. • You need to address the performance tasks: however, you may choose to update or revise your performance task artifacts with new documents and artifacts while student teaching.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY • You wrote a teaching philosophy in ED. 381 Possibilities: • Make it more appealing for audience • Update or revise it • Replace it with a new philosophy based on your teaching experience Add Specific Philosophies: Class Management, Philosophy for Teach (Math) – may have from a methods class.

  12. SUBJECT KNOWLEDGE • Much of the coursework you do in methods classes applies here • Lesson plans demonstrating subject knowledge applies here • What unique ways can you show subject knowledge beyond lesson plans?
