APM • Association for Project Management • A UK Registered Charity • Mission “To develop and promote the professional disciplines of project and programme management for the public benefit” • At the heart of APM is the APM Body of Knowledge – 52 knowledge areas required to manage ant successful project • Not to be confused with the APM Group

APMP • A knowledge based project management qualification (3 hour written exam) • Covers 37 knowledge areas from the APM Body of Knowledge • Assesses a candidate’s breadth of knowledge in all areas of project management, from strategic and commercial implications, to technical, organisational, and people management skills • For people with up to two years project management experience

PRINCE2 • A structured method for effective project management • Recognised as a world-class international product that embodies many years of good practice in project management • Consists of a Process Model, 8 Components, 3 Techniques and supporting “management products” • A Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) • Published by TSO

PRINCE2 Practitioner • An exam that measures whether a candidate would be able to apply PRINCE2 to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2 (3 hour Objective Test Exam) • Candidates need to show that they can apply and tune PRINCE2 to address the needs and problems of a specific project • Candidates need to have passed the PRINCE2 Foundation Exam (1 hour Multi-Choice exam)
