All Healers Mental Health Alliance • Psychiatrists, MDs of other specialties, faith-based leaders, social workers, psychologists, and health advocates from across the nation • Mobilized to provide long-term mental health response, resilience and recovery to disaster survivors and their caregivers

All Healers Mental Health Alliance • Facilitate screening, referral, mental health services, tracking, case management • Develop nationwide networks of culturally competent mental health professionals • Link with primary care, faith community, schools, nursing homes, CBOs and other gatekeepers • Training, consultation, and support to caregivers using cutting edge interactive technologies, including telepsychiatry

AHMHA Advocacy Efforts: 2005-2006 • Inform federal, state, and local legislative and civic leaders about: • AHMHA and the Regional Coordinating Center @ Morehouse • unmet needs for mental health services • need for allocation resources for services • Conduct site visits to the Gulf Coast and the diaspora • Organize events to honor people who have worked to assist disaster survivors • Give presentations and distribute AHMHA literature at national meetings and conferences, and other forums • Activation of key advocates: Fredette West and Drs. Phyllis Harrison-Ross, Lucy Perez, Annelle Primm

All Healers Mental Health Alliance • Establish national network of culturally competent mental health professionals to serve people with unmet mental health needs • Provide support and consultation to caregivers • Organize Heroes of Healing celebrations • Nurture partnerships with Morehouse, NUL, and other organizations • Conduct demonstration projects using telepsychiatry in primary care, faith community and school settings – New Orleans, Houston • Future research/conference on use of telepsychiatry in diverse populations
