  14. Computer Skills • Create, save, copy, move, and manage files and directories on a computer • Use a browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc) including navigational tools (back button, bookmark/favorites)

  16. Blackboard Access • All university courses will now be supported by BlackBoard 9. You should have access to your Fall 2012 courses by noon on Wednesday August 22nd. • If you follow the steps below and still have difficulty, contact the Island Online (IOL) Helpdesk 361-825-2692. • Web Browser, Mozilla Firefox works best with BB9

  17. Steps to Get to the Course • Go to TAMUCC homepage • On the left hand menu under current students, you will find link “Island Online” – click on this link. • You will be on the IOL homepage. On the right hand side, you will see “Island Online Login: boxes • Enter your Active Directory (NET ID) credentials to log in

Active Directory Access • Step1: Go to “newuser.tamucc.edu” • Step 2: Fill in the boxes with the requested information in the required format • Step 3: Click submit • Step 4: You will see your user id and temporary password, which you should write down; NOTE: You must now wait 5 minutes for the account to activate • Step 5: Please go to https://islander.tamucc.edu/pcu and follow the directions to change your Wireless Access password:. Click on the link and carefully follow the required password creation protocols.

  19. Island Online Login • To obtain your NetID and Password, please visit: http://newuser.tamucc.edu • (http://newuser.tamucc.edu • Password created when NetID was created. Remember to complete this step.

  28. MSN Program • Full time enrollment: 9 credit • Part-time enrollment: 6 credits • TAMU-CC CONHS is designed to deliver graduate education as a part-time program. • All courses are not offered every semester • Students must monitor course sequencing (prerequisites) when registering.

The Process: Admission • Meet TAMUCC Office of Research and Graduate Studies admission requirements • BSN; RN license; GPA = 3.0; • Completed undergraduate statistics course. • Goal statement consistent with MSN options • References, Resume • Conditional admission: students must maintain 3.0 GPA in core courses

Higher One Card • Higher One Card = Easy Refund Card • Company that manages refunds for students • A refund is any money left over from a payment for tuition and fees • It operates same way (with same fees) as a debit card • Do not have to use debit card but must set up option for deposit of refunds to other account.

Satisfactory Performance • Earn at least a B in a course • Cs indicate minimally acceptable performance- will have an enforced withdrawal from the program if earn more than 2 Cs across program of study or if GPA drops below 3.0 • Must earn a B in the capstone course • Must have a GPA = 3.0 to graduate

  40. Administrative Withdrawal • Cannot progress to through program with more than 2 Withdrawals • Will need to petition Graduate Nursing Admission Progression Graduation (APG) Committee for continuation in program • Policy includes medical withdrawals

Withdrawal from Program Only option to withdraw from course once deadline for course withdrawal has passed. • Follow instructions for dropping courses. • Withdraw from all courses in which you are currently enrolled. • Inform faculty and Academic Advisor You will need to reapply to the program if you withdraw.

  42. Graduation • Completed all coursework • Earned GPA 3.0 • No more than 2 Cs in your degree plan • Submitted appropriate application for graduation
