The evaluation conducted in week 45 (November 8, 2012) for the DCS Software Construction course with 22 students revealed that only 12 participated. Overall, the feedback was positive, praising the teaching style, the instructor, and activities. However, concerns emerged over the breadth of topics covered, suggesting a need for more exercises and time on challenging subjects. Additionally, issues with punctuality were noted, prompting discussions on potential penalties for late arrivals and the importance of starting classes on time.

Delphi Evaluation Results DCS Software Construction 2.semester, Autumn 2012
Delphi evaluation, SWC2 A12 • Conducted week 45, (8.nov 2012) • Course has 22 students • 12 students handed in an evaluation (12 students were present at the evaluation) • Somewhat problematic that only 12 of 22 students participated in evaluation…
Conclusions – Positive statements • Students seem generally satisfied with • The teaching style • The teacher • The activities on the course • But.. • Maybe not quite so enthusiastic about all course materials and topics (follow-up?)
Conclusions – ”could be better” statements • Most prominent problem is definitely the amount of topics the course is covering • Need more exercises, and time for them… • More time devoted to harder topics • Maybe need for occasional repetition of 1.semester material (class definitions, etc.) • Can certain topics be toned down, or removed entirely?
Conclusions – ”could be better” statements • Also a problem with students coming late for class– wastes time • Can we change the culture about being on time? • Should teacher be more ”aggressive” towards latecomers? • Should classes start exactly on time, no matter the attandance? • Penalties for being late (cake, …)?
