LOOK, SAY, COVER, WRITE, CHECK DIRECTIONS: Write your spelling words in the “Word List” column. Crease the page along the line of the “Word List” column. Look carefully at each word—one at a time. Say each word out loud to yourself. Cover the original word by folding the page on the crease. Rewrite the original word in the “1st Try” column. Check your spelling of the word with the original. Use the other “Try” columns for further practice. Identify word construction (syl/la/bles; chunking) for each column.
