  2. Limb Structures of Animal Offspring Resemble Those of Their Parents Young Snowy Owl Adult Snowy Owl Adult Ducks and Ducklings Look closely at the pictures of the snowy owls and ducks. How do the feet and wings of the young resemble those of the parent? How do these same features differ between the snowy owl and the ducks?

  3. Behavioral Traits of Offspring Resemble Those of Their Parents A young Pointer Dog has assumed the characteristic motionless stance of its parent, even before any training. Can you think of behaviors of other dog breeds that the young exhibit before training?

Coloration Patterns of Offspring of Wild Animals Often Resemble Those of One Another and Those of their Parents A young zebra has a pattern of black and white stripes that resembles that of its parent. Likewise, a young gazelle does not have black and white stripes. What else do you see that provides evidence that the two organisms are parent/offspring?
