Why the need for an HR application for NGO’s ? • Commercial HR software is very expensive as priced per user. • NGO’s that have no IT department need an easy to use system. • Recording of paid staff and also unpaid volunteers. • People often have multiple roles and responsibilities. • People’s relationships with an organisation often change over time.

Farm Africa • Works directly with farmers in East Africa to improve their livelihoods through increased harvests. • 250 Field workers based in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan. • 40 programme design and support staff based at head office in London. • Annual Income of approx. GBP 12 million (USD 20 million).

  5. Current HR System at Farm Africa • Spreadsheets & Paper Files. • Difficult to share information between offices. • No real time information. • Monthly reporting of HR KPI’s is time consuming and labour intensive. • Lots of time spent chasing for information.

  6. New CiviHR System being developed for Farm Africa • Web based application with a centralised database. • Easy to see information from all offices. • Information updated as soon as records are entered. • KPI’s calculated automatically. • Much more time now available for analyzing trends.
