  2. Coils • Coil = a snake-like roll of clay that can be stacked and/or smoothed together to create pottery and designs

  3. Hints: • Make sure your clay is MOIST/WET • Dry coils will crack and break as you try to bend them • Make sure you SLIP & SCORE • Just adding water to “stick” them together will not work • Once the water dries, the coils will FALL APART! • You may leave them coiled or smooth them out…

  4. Assignment • Create a LARGE coil pot - Minimum of 6 inches tall • Make it interesting • Example: interesting shapes, coil designs, additive sculpture, holes, etc
