  2. Modern Baseball is played between two teams of nine players with a bat and ball. The current game was developed in the USA from a similar game played in the UK in the mid 1700's.

  3. The first major recorded rules were the Knickerbocker Rules formatted by the New York Club of that name and they with a few modifications form the basis of the rules today.

  4. In 1938 the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) has administered the game worldwide and has over 110 member countries.

  5. Competitions such as the Baseball World Cup, Women's Baseball World Cup and Olympic Baseball Tournament have been organised and run by them. 

  6. In many countries it is a growing sport with clubs in many areas for individuals to get involved at both junior and senior levels.
