Walks in the county Know your neighbours, talk to them, help each other, sense of community Pull Factor into the countryside Retiring to the countryside – counterurbanisation

  2. Push factor – away from the rural area No university in local area. Not much entertainment for young adults. Local jobs are mainly low paid with no career ladder. Local housing is very expensive – bought by ‘outsiders’ MEDC – Young Adult leaving rural area Universities in nearby cities like Cardiff and Swansea – some school friends may go there too. Potential partners abound! With training can have a career with prospects of promotion in the city Some cheaper housing in nearby towns like Ebbw Vale. Pull Factor into the town / city - part of re-urbanisation
