  2. The Battle of Jutland • This battle was of the greatest naval battles of First World War. • The battle was between The German High Seas Fleet and The Royal Navy of Britain. • British thought they were going to win the battle. • Britain believed they could read Germans codes.

  3. Continued • There were many battleships lost from the war on both sides. • This battle was a German victory.

  4. Battle of Dogger Bank- 1915 • This battle was between the German and the British navy’s. • It first started with the German Admiral Franz von Hipper ordered a raid on three British Northern sea costal towns. • British got word of this and surprised the Germans. • Both sides backed down after some damage on British and German ships. • Ended with German’s victory.

  5. Continued • Only a few German destroyers were damaged • 56 German fatalities • 24 Germans captured

  7. Battle of Heligoland Bight • Once again this battle was between Germany and Britain. • They fought in long-distance sorties. • They were again fighting over the North Sea. • 1,200 German fatalities • 35 British fatalities

  8. Ships • Three German light cruisers sunk • One German destroyer sunk • One British light cruiser sunk • Three British destroyers damaged
