  2. The greater gliders head and body length is 400mm and its tail length is 500mm it weighs up to 1.5kg . They are covered in shaggy fur and have fluffy ears. Colours range from brown to creamy white. The skin that helps them glide goes from their elbow to their ankle. DESCRIPTION

  3. Habitat Greater Gliders are found in Eastern Australia in Eucalypt forests and woodlands. They are native to Australia. Gliders are nocturnal so during the day they shelter in tree hollows. They often use up to 10 hollows at any one time.

  4. D I E T They only eat eucalyptus leaves. They do not drink water because they get it from the eucalyptus leaves.

  5. BREEDING • Greater Gliders breed from March to June. • They only have one joey (baby glider) each year. • The joey comes out of the mothers pouch when it is 3 – 4 months of age and is then carried on the mothers back till it can look after itself. • Gliders live for an average of 8 – 10 years.

  6. PREDATORS The greater gliders major predator is the Powerful Owl.

  7. Can turn up to 90 degrees while gliding. Can glide up to 100mtrs from tree to tree. INTERESTING FACTS They like to live alone The are very good climbers
