  11. 2/12 • Objective: Through reading and writing, students will analyze and evaluate essays on Things Fall Apart. • Agenda: • Peer editing • Practice ACT • Begin discussion on justice • Homework: Revise your essay using your comments from your peer editor. Due Wednesday 2/21 (or Friday, if you don’t want to worry about it this weekend.

  12. On Your Own Paper Right Now Make sure you have a title (if not, write one)

  13. Peer Editing • Choosing a partner • It should be someone you are comfortable sharing your writing with. • It should be someone that will not just tell you it is good. • The job of the peer editor is to give constructive and useful feedback.

  14. Peer Editing • Your grade comes from having your paper graded, so if your partner doesn’t do a good job, you are the one that looses points. • Make sure you choose someone that you trust and know will give you constructive and useful feedback.

Peer Editing • Highlight your partner’s topic/thesis statement. • Follow the guidelines on the half sheet, and use the rubric to grade your partner. • Check their content, organization and style based on what we talked about last week. When you get your essay back from your partner, make sure you talk about it, and make sure they have given you constructive and useful feedback.
