RBIG PROJECTS • Only 1 RBIG Project called Emadlangeni Bulk Water Supply Scheme • Previous year’s allocation was R37 600 000 • This year’s allocation (2012/2013) is R15 600 000 • No allocations beyond 2012/2013 as the project is supposed to be complete this financial year
ACIP PROJECTS • Refurbishment of Utrecht ponds. R550 000 allocated in 2012/2013 • Refurbishment of Tweediedale Wastewater Treatment Plant. R1 120 000 allocated for 2013/2014
NATIONAL TRANSFERS PROJECTS • Refurbishment of Durnacol Wastewater Treatment Plant. R2 066 119 allocated in 2012/2013 • Refurbishment of WelgedachtWastewater Treatment Plant. R2 145 221 allocated in 2012/2013 • Refurbishment of Durnacol Water Treatment Plant. R2 648 660 allocated in 2012/2013 • Boreholes installations. R1 500 000 allocated in 2012/2013. Another R1 500 000 allocated in 2013/2014
CHALLENGES • On the RBIG project, the DM is under-spending by R12,049 million (R15,6 million budget less R3,551 million expenditure) and has declared that it won’t be able to spend this amount by the end of the financial year • On the ACIP project, expenditure is also not good due to late appointment of a contractor. Of the R550 000 allocation, only R220 509 has been spent.
