Present Progressive (uses 2 verbs) • Similar to adding –ing to a verb in English (He is talking.) • Start with the verb estar (to be) • Conjugate it • Take the –ar off of the 2nd verb and add –ando • hablar (to talk) becomes hablando (talking) • Take the –er or –ir off of the verb and add –iendo. • Comer (to eat) becomes comiendo (eating) • Escribir (to write) becomes escribiendo (writing)
Examples: • I am talking.= Estoyhablando. • Felipe is eating.= Felipe estácomiendo. • We are talking. =Nosotrosestamoshablando.
