The Bridge Horticulture Program, in partnership with The Horticultural Society of New York, has transformed urban spaces into thriving farms. Established in 2005, the program features a rooftop garden and an urban farm in the Bronx funded by United Way grants. Participants engage in sustainable practices, such as creating compost, growing vegetables, and selling produce at local markets. This hands-on initiative empowers residents through education in horticulture, fostering community and environmental stewardship while promoting healthy living.
