  3. Procedure: Let’s look at the problem 56 x 32 = ? • First: you draw a rectangular box.

  4. 50 6 • Second you break down the number 56 to 50 + 6. And place the new number atop the rectangle Make sure you draw a line down where the two numbers meet. Make sure the line is representative of where they should be on the number line. It does not have to be exact.
