  2. The Bonneville Media Group was excited to join forces with BMI to host the first ever Songwriters Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah presented by America First Credit Union. • On Saturday, March 22nd, we hosted an all-day, all ages event at The Depot venue where we showcased three world- famous songwriters: legendary hall of fame and BMI Icon recipient Dean Dillon , multi-award winning Steve Dorff and newcomer American Idol Finalist Paul McDonald. Dean Dillon himself has written over 39 songs recorded by George Straight who won the CMA Entertainer of the Year this year. • An added bonus came to the event when John Oates the first songwriter to commit to the event was named as a recipient to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for Hall and Oates. Rather than cancel, he offered to do a Charity Performance for us which took place March 10th at The Grande Theatre at Salt Lake Community College Center for Arts and Media South City Campus. • Our Goal for the event was to: • Showcase individuals who have perfected their craft and made music what it is today • Offer families and individuals an experience they will never forget • Give local songwriters an opportunity to break into the industry through knowledge and potential exposure • Raise awareness /donations for Legacy Music Alliance and Love Hope Strength charities • Award scholarship(s) to individuals seeking to further their education of creating songs and music • In addition to a stunning performance from the Songwriters, through panel discussions from local songwriters, record labels, technical experts, business/finance companies and many other industries who are dedicated to helping individuals make music, the event was a huge success! • This 2014 Songwriters Summit offered our listeners and viewers an up-close, exclusive experience they will never forget. We are already planning 2015 and it will be bigger and more amazing!
