  6. Expectations for Players • Be a STUDENT athlete • Prepare your body (strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and conditioning) • Be committed to the team • Be a leader on and off the field • Team Expectations (handout) • Chippewa Valley Code of Conduct for student athletes (must be signed)

  7. Expectations for Parents • Support your son • Support the team • Support the Coaching Staff • Have fun and enjoy the season • Football is an opportunity to teach lifelong lessons (NU74)

  8. Eligibility • Must pass four classes 2nd Semester • If under a 2.0. GPA, player must be on a weekly progress report until adequate improvement is shown • Summer School – at Dakota 9th Grade Center • Contact Coach Merchant or your counselor for more information

  9. Fundraising • Necessary for additional coaches, equipment, professional film, Hudl system, programs, uniforms, dinners, dog tags, banquets, pizza, website, etc. • eTeamSponsor: email campaign for all teams must be entered online by June 1st (handout) • Lift-A-Thon: this summer for incoming 9th & 10th graders • Yearbook/Program ad sales • Team Card: each player is expected to sell cards; $10 cards this year • Cookie Dough

  10. Summer Camps • Middle School Football Camp: • June 16 & June 17 • 5:00 – 8:00pm • Current Grades 6 through 8 • Cost: $55.00 (T-shirt included) • High School Football Camp: • July 28 & 29 • 5:00 – 8:00pm • Current Grades 9 through 11 • Cost: $30.00 (T-shirt included)

  11. Summer Camps • Chippewa Speed, Agility, & Quickness Camp: • June: 17,19, 24, 26 • July: 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31 • From 10:00am - 11:00am • Cost: $115.00 (T-shirt included) • Grades 6-12: Middle School through High School

Weight Room • Summer Hours • Grades 9 & 10 from 11:00am – Noon Tuesday & Thursdays • Grades 11 & 12 from 9:00 – 10:00am Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays • starting June 16th and ending August 5th • A coach will always be present • Players are expected to lift at Chippewa with their teammates and coaches

  13. Varsity Conditioning • Mondays • 10:00 to 11:00am • Starts June 16th and ends August 5th • Bring running shoes, football cleats and something to drink

Summer Calendar • Starts Monday, June 16th ends Tuesday, August 5th • “Dead Week” - July 4th to July 11th • No weightlifting, speed camp, or any other football related activities • No contact with coaches • Physical Night @ CVHS Thursday, July 31st: 4:30-7:00pm • Practice starts August 11th at 8:00am for all levels

  15. Equipment Handout • Monday, August 4th & Tuesday, August 5th • Seniors – 8:00 to 9:00am – August 4th • Juniors – 11:00am to Noon – August 4th • Sophomores – 9:00 to 10:00am – August 5th • Freshmen – 11:00am to noon – August 5th YOU MUST BRING A LOCK IN ORDER TO GET YOUR EQUIPMENT

  16. Requirements • Must have a physical dated after April 15, 2014 in order to practice (Physical Night handout) • IMPACT Testing (concussion handout) • Must have a lock to get equipment • At least one parent/guardian must attend mandatory fall sports meeting on August 20th • Pay to Participate Fee - must be paid online after August 1st & before scrimmage; form must be turned in as well in order to scrimmage • Free and Reduced lunch families see the application on the district website – must be renewed annually

  17. First Week of Practice • Monday, August 11th: all levels meet at the appropriate field at scheduled time • Varsity: Monday – Friday • 8:00am to 2:30pm (Stadium) • Junior Varsity: Monday – Friday • 8:00am to 2:30pm (9th Grade Center Field) • Freshman: Monday – Friday • 8:00am to 12:30pm (CVHS by tennis courts) • Saturday, August 16th: • Red & White Scrimmage: 9:00-11:30am • Picnic: Noon – 1:00PM • Sunday, August 17th: • Off

  18. Communication • In order to stay in touch we need player and parent emails and phone numbers; please fill out the football questionnaire and turn it in to your coach before you leave. This is extremely important! • Important announcements and information will also be posted on our Twitter page & website: @CVBigReds www.cvbigreds.com

  19. Shoes & Apparel • Joe Scott – BSN Sports • Team Cleat, Equipment, & Apparel online order form available until May 28th

  20. Parental Involvement • We want and need your involvement with a number of events: red & white picnic, team dinners, fundraising efforts, banquet, programs, yearbook, etc. • Big Red Backers group will be signing up volunteers and selling items
