Poetry Contest ~ March 5th through March 26th ~ ~ In celebration of National Poetry Month in March ~ Sponsored by: ~All poems are to be submitted to Mr. Carey in room 262 ~ ---Poetry Guidelines--- • All grade levels are encouraged to participate. 1 winner will be picked from each grade level. • Judging will be based on originality and creativity. Plagiarism will end in disqualification for that student. • The ELA vertical team will judge the poems based a 16 point rubric. (see second page). • Submissions are to typed and artwork is encouraged with the poem. (creativity) • One submission per student. • Prizes include: - • A Lunch for the winners • All school appropriate poems will be posted around the school. • Some submissions will be read on the morning announcements.
