The Qin Dynasty lasted from 221 B.C. until 206 B.C. • It was established by Emperor Qinshihuang (meaning the 1st Emperor of the Qin Dynasty). • The Qin Dynasty was the 1st feudal dynasty to rule all of China. • This laid the foundation of a united multi-ethnic country.
The Qin Dynasty are responsible for repairing, linking up and extending the walls built by former states into a huge military defense work.
The Great Wall extends over 6700 km. or approximately 4163 miles.
Terra Cotta Warriors (next slide)- In 1974 a group of peasants digging a well, made what was to become the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century when they unearthed fragments of a life sized Terra Cotta Warrior. Excavation of the vault revealed thousands of warriors and their horses, an entire army designed follows its emperor into eternity.
