Overview What’s been accomplished to-date? What are the next steps? How have we configured v6 infrastructure and services?
Road Map to 2012 Deliverables • Phase 1: Basic Infrastructure [50 person-days (pd)] • Register v4 legacy address space with ARIN [10 pd] • Acquire provider-independent v6 address block from ARIN [4 pd] • Attend 3-day Internet2 v6 workshop (2 staff) [6 pd] • Order training materials (e.g., books) [0 pd] • Prepare & execute project management plan [10 pd (in-progress)] • Develop v6 addressing scheme [2 pd] • Validate v6 routing plan and configuration syntax on simulator [3 pd] • Configure v6 OSPF and BGP routing (overlay on v4 production network) [5 pd] • Setup v6 firewall front-end for DNS, web, and e-mail servers [4 pd] • Configure v6 IPAM/DNS (InfoBlox) [3 pd] • Check v6 WCCP support on routers and firewalls [2 pd] • Check v6 support on web filter and web firewall appliances [1 pd] • Phase 2: External Services – First Pass [15 person-days] • Configure wireless firewall and guest network for v6 [4 pd] • Configure selected science-network servers for v6 [2 pd] • Dual-stack and test web application firewall (Barracuda) [4 pd] • Enable v6 access to corporate web site [3 pd] • Test v6-to-v4 translation front-end for e-mail gateways [2 pd, on-hold]
