  1. Golgi Body and Secretory Vesicles By: Blake Davis Pd. 6 Sorry, Class I was late. Today’s lesson is about the Golgi Body and Secretory Vesicles.

  2. Where are They Both Located? • The Golgi apparatus is almost always located near the nucleus of the cell it has the Secretory vesicles are located inside of the Golgi body. The Golgi Body is like the pea and the Secretory Vesicles are the pods.

  3. Just like the ones you ride on at Sandcastle, those inner tubes look like the Golgi Body and the Secretory Vesicles look just like balls. Why is this writing on top of me. What does it look like? • The Golgi Body has a series of membranes that looks like a bunch of flattened pancakes stacked on top of each other • The has a sphere like shape that sort of resembles inner tubes. • The Golgi Body and Secretory Vesicles are both a yellow- brownish color • Also, the Secretory vesicles are shaped like bubbles that are either on the inside or outside of the Golgi Body. The Golgi Body’s smaller subunits are the Secretory Vesicles that are with it.

  4. What is the function of the Golgi body and Secretory vesicles • The Golgi Body turns simple molecules into more complex molecules that’s why is it also called the Golgi Complex. Then it puts the complex molecules in to Secretory Vesicles. It will either store the Vesicles or send them out into the cell. • The Golgi Body also is responsible for making the organelle Lysosomes • Sometimes in plant cells the Golgi Body will make complex sugars. Without the Golgi Body we wouldn’t have any Lysosomes. So they are a vital part of the cell. The Secretory vesicles are complex molecules.
