WHO ARE WE ‘Help Uttarakhand- Lets join Hands’ is a collective effort of three organizations SAMOOLAM (www.samoolam.org ) KARM MARG ( www.karmmarg.org ) KADAM ( www.kadamindia.org ) To make sure our efforts are effective , helpful and long lasting, we have collaborated with a grassrootorganisation , AAGAAS FEDERATION ( www.aagaas.org ) that has been working in Chamoli district since 1997.

OUR MISSION • To work towards building a phase wise rehabilitation plan to help the local survivors of Uttarakhand floods, especially in the villages of Chamoli District to get their lives back to normal. • To support the following severely affected villages in the Badrinath valley in Joshimath block

  4. Why these villages? • Remote location and non accessibility due to the broken roads • No attention has been given by the state yet • Farmlands and cattle have been washed away. • The locals have barely any means of earning a livelihood • We have a prior known contact point, JP Bhai, a well known local social worker with a grassroot organization Aagaas Federation

  7. DISTRICT - CHAMOLI As per 2011 census,: 84.83 % population of Chamoli districts lives in rural areas of villages. The total Chamoli district population living in rural areas is 332,209. The child population comprises 14.85 % of total rural population of Chamoli district. Affected villages in Joshimath Block : Hanuman Chatti Pandukeshwar Govindghat Bhyundar Pulana Lambagarh Pinoli / Benakuli

Items • ORS • Water purification tablets like Chlorine etc. • AntiBacterial Powder for Feet Medicines • Paracetamol - for fever • Combiflam - for aches • Lomotil - for loose motions • Any cough syrup like Benadryl • Cetrizine/Anti allergic - for nose congestion, sinus problems, skin allergies • Novaclox - antibiotic for most except food poisoning • Norflox TZ - for food poisoning/ drinking bad water, etc
