Supporting UN's MDG Implementation through Spain-UNDP Agreement | Enhancing Global Development Initiatives

  1. MDG-F Background • Agreement signed between Spain and UNDP on 18 December 2006 • Euros 528 million (US$ 710 million) • Four years • Supporting UN efforts towards the implementation of the MDGs • Administrative Agent = UNDP

Fund Structure • The Global Account: US$ 24 million disbursed to select UN agencies as core voluntary contributions in 2007 • The One UN Account: Includes contributions to the Coherence/One UN Funds in the pilot countries (to date US$ 30.6 million) • The Country Account: Majority of funds (US$ 590 million) go towards joint UN programmes in 8 thematic windows
