Enhancing TBI Support for Veterans: Insights from the VCC and Vet Corps Outreach Project

The Veterans Conservation Corps (VCC) and Vet Corps outreach project aims to address the growing incidence of traumatic brain injury (TBI) among returning service members. With up to 90% of wounded service members surviving their injuries, a significant number are now returning home with mild TBI, severe post-traumatic stress, and other mental health challenges. Key insights reveal a high interest level among veterans and military families in accessing VA benefits and support. The project emphasizes peer intervention and education to improve awareness and treatment of TBI-related issues.
