  3. Reading Block: Monday • Vocabulary • Reading and Reflecting

  4. Reading Block Tuesday • Read and Reflect • Shared Inquiry Discussion

  5. Literacy Stations • Four - Five students in each station: 3&4 grade students • Students visit five stations each week • Two - Three centers a day for 30 minutes in each center • Wednesday & Thursday

  6. Reading Block: Wednesday – Thursday • Stations: Language Arts Vocabulary Research Creative Arts/Writing Social Studies

Advantages of In-Depth Inquiry Students who are actively involved in an extended cycle of questioning, experiential data-gathering, group discussion, and sharing of information will be engaged, will want to learn more, and will be motivated to do so later on.   16. Mathematics • During the first nine weeks students will be working out of a third and fourth grade text. • 3rd Grade Curriculum Map Pacing Guide • We will begin using the fourth grade text book during the second nine weeks. • 4rth Grade Curriculum Map Pacing Guide

  17. Math Superstars • All students are required to participate in Math Superstars. This program is designed to challenge and review all math concepts that will prepare them for the FCAT test in March.

  18. Social Studies: Florida Studies • Social Studies Flash Cards • Geography and Map Skills, History of Florida , and Florida’s Government

  19. Science • Incorporating reading, social studies, and science. • Physical Science, Force and Motion, Earth Space Science, Processes that Shape the Earth, Florida Wetlands Ecosystem: The Everglades • Hands on science experiments
