  4. The opinions being sought • Getting a better view of EID’s • New tools • New ways of thinking • Setting the goal post for EID research and action • Reduce surprise from complexity with a reductionist toolbox

  5. Heinsberg and Hanta • EID’s looked at like grade 6’s look at atoms • But, EID’s are really quantum atoms • Are there opportunity for us to move from reaction to prevent and prediction

  6. The Great Leap Forward? • A fuzzy picture of William Osler • A fuzzy way forward to think differently about EIDs • Bring sharpness to the intellectual, educational and methodology foundation to One Health • Slow evolution or a major cultural shift
